Boot’s Landscaping is a family-run business led by three dedicated owners who share a passion for creating exceptional outdoor spaces. Each member of our team brings a unique set of skills, but we all share a commitment to communication, quality, and ensuring every client feels valued.

Gerald Boot

President

Gerald Boot, CLHM (Certified Landscape Horticulturist Manager), is the founder and President of Boot’s Landscaping and Maintenance Ltd., established in 1981. A pioneer in his field, Gerald was one of the first in Canada to complete the Certified Landscape Horticulturist Manager examination. He served on the Landscape Ontario Board from 1994 to 2012, including four years as Treasurer and two as President. Gerald is also a founding member of the LO Snow and Ice sector group and contributed to the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association from 2007 to 2021. In 2011, he was honored as an Honorary Life Member of Landscape Ontario.

Jack VandeRee

Vice-President

Jack VandeRee serves as Vice-President at Boot’s Landscaping, where he has worked since 1986. With hands-on experience starting at his uncle’s landscape firm, Jack became one of the first in Ontario to earn certification as a Horticulture Technician. He brings a wide range of expertise, including landscape design, maintenance, irrigation, and equipment management. Jack enjoys exploring innovative trends and techniques from other countries to enhance Boot’s Landscaping’s services. As Vice-President, he applies his knowledge across multiple divisions, ensuring the company stays current and efficient in delivering quality landscaping seolutions.

Anthony Kampen

Grounds Maintenance Division Manager

Anthony Kampen has over 30 years of experience at Boot’s Landscaping, where he began as a General Laborer and now oversees the Grounds Maintenance division. He holds a degree in Horticulture from the University of Guelph and became a certified arborist in 2002. Anthony’s extensive experience in horticulture and management ensures that all landscapes under Boot’s care meet client expectations. Anthony thrives on transforming properties into beautiful, functional outdoor spaces. He works tirelessly to ensure that every project is completed with all the due attention-to-detail and care.

John Boot

Landscape Construction and Maintenance Manager

John Boot has been with Boot’s Landscaping since 2009 and is a Certified Landscape Technician (CLT). He graduated from the Niagara Parks Botanical and School of Horticulture in 2009 and has since taken on roles in landscape design, project management, and snow and ice management. John holds certifications as an Irrigation Technician and is Smart About Salt Certified. His diverse skills enable him to manage landscape construction and seasonal maintenance, making him a valuable asset to the team.

Dennis Vanderveen

Snow & Ice Division Manager and Irrigation Specialist

Dennis Vanderveen is a Certified Irrigation Contractor and Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor, with over a decade of experience in the landscaping industry. He holds an Architectural Technician Diploma from Mohawk College and joined Boot’s Landscaping in 2012. Dennis has been managing the Snow & Ice division since 2004, overseeing sidewalk crews during the winter months. In addition to his work in snow and ice management, Dennis is highly skilled in irrigation. His dual expertise helps us serve clients year-round.

Evelyn Jajou

Office Administrator

Evelyn Jajou has been with Boot’s Landscaping since 2010, starting as a seasonal Maintenance Gardener before becoming Office Administrator. With her hands-on experience, Evelyn understands client needs, company operations, and daily challenges. She manages client inquiries, administrative tasks, and ensures smooth office operations. Her field experience and administrative expertise make her a valuable asset to both clients and staff.

Steven Boot

Landscape Supervisor

Steven began at Boot’s Landscaping at 10 and went full-time in 2017. He holds a Landscape Technician diploma from Humber, studied at Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture, and is an ISA Certified Arborist with ISA TRAQ, Red Seal, and CNLA-Certified Landscape Horticulture Technician credentials. He earned a Business Administration Certificate from York University, combining his hands-on experience with technical expertise.

Izak VandeRee

Landscape Designer

Izak has been with Boot’s Landscaping full-time since 2018. He holds a BA from the University of Toronto and a Certificate in Landscape Design from Toronto Metropolitan University. Izak is currently working toward his CLD certification from Landscape Ontario and building his portfolio to enhance his expertise. His strong educational background, dedication to learning, and passion for design make him a valuable member of the Boot’s Landscaping team.
